UPVC & Benefits

WHAT IS UPVC ?

UPVC stands for Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride and is also known as rigid PVC. The term Unplasticized means no additional plasticizing polymers are used in UPVC manufacturing process and hence is the most durable form of PVC. Regular PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a common, strong but lightweight plastic used in construction. It is made softer and more flexible by the addition of plasticizers. If no plasticizers are added, it is known as uPVC (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride) or rigid PVC.

  • UPVC is a versatile material that can be manufactured in many colors or made to look like other materials (e.g., wood).
  • UPVC is also used instead of cast iron for certain types of heavy-duty plumbing and draining.
  • UPVC is also used for making doors &  window frames.
  • Moreover, uPVC can also be used for door frames.

BENEFITS OF UPVC

  • UPVC does not decompose and is weather, corrosion & heat resistant.
  • UPVC has high durability and longevity and is termite resistance.
  • UPVC does not change shape under normal weather conditions, but it can be reshaped at very high temperatures.
  • UPVC windows are more energy-efficient than those with wooden or metal frames. It provides thermal and high sound insulation.
  • UPVC is a versatile material that can be manufactured in many colors or made to look like other materials (e.g., wood).
  • UPVC is light weight and easy to install.
  • UPVC is recyclable thus it is environment friendly.
  • It needs very low maintenance thus it is cost effective.
